Dr. Valeri Gergov is a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology and oncology in Sofia with over 30 years of experience. Dr. Gergov was selected as one of the Best Doctors in Bulgaria in Obstetrics and Gynecology in a Darik Radio survey. Dr. Gergov does not examine children.

Education
He graduated from Medical University – Sofia in 1985. He acquired his specialties in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Oncology in 1991 and 2006.

Qualifications
• Qualification courses in laparoscopy, colposcopy, ultrasound, endocrine gynecology and hysteroscopy;
• Member of the Bulgarian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Bulgarian Association of Gynecologic Oncology, and the Bulgarian Association of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology;
• Participation in numerous specialty congresses in Bulgaria and abroad.

Biography
After graduating, Dr. Gergov began working at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Complex at Montana General Hospital. From 1995 to 2010, he worked at the First Specialized Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital for Active Treatment “Sveta Sofia”. Since 2011, he has been Head of the Department of Operative Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology at Serdika Hospital, Sofia.

Dr. Ivo Gergov, MD, PhD – Head of the Diagnostic Imaging Department at the University Specialized Hospital for Oncology “Prof. Ivan Chernozemski”, Sofia.

He graduated from Medical University – Sofia in 1993. Since 1996, he has specialized in Diagnostic Imaging at the Diagnostic Imaging Department of the University Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment in Oncology. He acquired his specialty in Diagnostic Imaging in 2001. Since 2014, he has been Head of the Diagnostic Imaging Department at the University Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment in Oncology.

In 2016, he defended a doctoral dissertation entitled “The Role of Mammography and Ultrasound Examination in the Primary Diagnosis of Breast Cancer” and received a Doctor of Medicine degree in the scientific specialty of Oncology.

• Breast imaging: mammography, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging;
• Interventional procedures: fine-needle biopsy of breast lesions; core needle biopsy of breast lesions;
• Computed tomography of the brain, facial skull, neck, thorax, abdomen and pelvis;
• Ultrasound diagnostics of the abdomen, pelvic organs and superficial structures;
• Magnetic resonance imaging.

• Individual training – Ultrasound and thermoablation at a University Hospital in Strasbourg;
